National Mentoring Month

Keokuk, IA – There is a growing need for mentors in the Tri-State region. More than 50 children in Lee, Clark, and Hancock counties have an adult mentor through Big Brothers-Big Sisters of the Great River Area. Executive Director, Cynthia Bergman, says there are still about 20 kids who need a mentor willing to give them some extra attention. Bergman says the couple of hours a week that a mentor spends with their little brother or sister can have a huge impact on the child's life. She says the organization holds several events for the Bigs and Littles each year... and is always looking for new mentors. January is National Mentoring Month.
