Carthage, IL – A senior housing project for Carthage will move forward now that a contractor has been found. Todd Shackelford of the Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging says the $1.2 million project will provide 10 housing units on a site near the current Carthage City Hall. He says if paperwork proceeds smoothly, construction could begin this summer. He says the units are for people who are mostly independent in their living arrangements. However, some services such as case management will be available.
