Macomb, IL – A WIU student was among the tens of thousands of protesters who marched on the National Mall in Washington DC this past weekend. The rally was a demonstration against the war in Iraq. It drew people from across the country, including WIU senior history major Ashley Eberle. She says although protesters came from a variety of backgrounds, they all had one thing in common: a desire to end the war. Eberle believes a US troop withdrawal plus the introduction of international peacekeeping forces would help achieve that goal. Eberle spent much of the weekend on buses traveling from Illinois to Washington DC and back, but she says it was worth it because every voice makes a difference.
