No Jolt from Electric Rates

Bushnell, IL – Municipal utilities customers in Bushnell are avoiding a jump in rates that's being experienced elsewhere in the state. Utility Superintendent Mike McCleery says his agency is partway though a long-term contract with the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency. That means the power they're getting was not subject to last September's reverse power auction. He says it will be several years before he'll have to bid again on power. He says by that time the power market should have settled out and become more predictable.
