Macomb, IL – The Illinois Department of Transportation outlined the preferred route for a Macomb to Peoria Route 336 freeway at an informational meeting in Macomb. The route goes east past Marietta, curves north past Cuba, and at Canton goes north to Farmington before continuing eastward to Peoria. Planners say the design will be tweaked during the coming year. A hearing next spring will show the final route. Concerns expressed at the hearing included some grade crossings, and the loss of homes along the route.
