Macomb, IL – The Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs is working with several small towns to help them develop charitable foundations. Director Emeritus Norm Walzer says that will give local residents a way to leave money to the community to be spend on needs that might come up. He says few towns have such a foundation, but creating one can help local funds stay in a community for common good. Help can include legal services to set up a foundation, as well as training for local residents on how to operate and expand one.
