Macomb, IL – The long process of finding a new Macomb School District superintendent is over. A nationwide search has resulted in the hiring of Alene Reuschel. The 57-year old Reuschel has been superintendent of the Avon School District for the past eight years. Reuschel met her husband Paul in Macomb and says the town feels like home to her. Reuschel says she wants to give back to a community that's been good to her. Board of Education President Bill DeJong is impressed by Reuschel's experience and says it's important that she's about to earn her doctorate, which has become a standard for Macomb superintendents. Reuschel says she agreed to a three-year contract that will pay her $150,000 each year. In Avon she was earning more than $100,000.
