Warsaw, IL – The Warsaw city council met for the first time in its new city hall this week. While the meeting was the first in the new city hall, which used to be Warsaw's public library, the building officially became home to city government several weeks ago. Mayor Robert Frank says this is the 4th city hall in Warsaw's roughly 175-year history. He says the facility provides employees with much more space than the previous Main Street city hall, which was sold last year. Frank says the renovations, including a new carpet and new council chambers, have given the new city hall a nice feel. The police department will occupy the building's lower level while city offices will be located on the upper level. Frank says a wheelchair ramp and a handicapped-accessible restroom must still be constructed.
