Carthage, IL – A Carthage patrolman is asking the city council to remove the chief of police. Scott Floyd says Chief Gary Waddell has continued to make allegations about him, even after Floyd was cleared by the state. He was accused of improperly accepting a weapon turned in by a citizen and of profiting on the sale of a DARE truck. Mayor Pro-Tem Donna Walker says the council is taking Floyd's request under advisement. She says the mayor and one of the aldermen were absent when Floyd made his request.
