Ethanol Use to Yield No Price Break

Macomb, IL – The director of the public bus sysem in Macomb says growing ethanol use in gasoline is not likely to bring any gasoline price breaks. Jude Kiah says ethanol can not be shipped by pipeline, but must be trucked to refineries where it's blended with gas. He says this adds to the cost. In addition, he says the limited number of ethanol plants in operation will keep the price of the fuel additive high.
