Macomb, IL – There are just a couple months remaining before the swimming season is scheduled to open in Macomb, but it's still not known what's causing a leak at Glenwood Pool. Park District Executive Director Ray Peterson says it's believed the problem is in the recirculation system. But he says the city and park district won't know for sure until a contractor is brought in to investigate the matter and do the repair work. He says since the nature of the problem is not known, it's also not known how much the repairs will cost. Peterson says the city and park district have not determined who will pay for the work - the city owns the pool and the park district operates it. The park board discussed the pool problems Tuesday night and also talked about the report issued by Benton & Associates, which studied the community's pool options.
