Bushnell, IL – The Bushnell city council is working to create a sign ordinance that would bar political signs on city property or near the town's monuments. Mayor Steve Russell says the issue came up when citizens accused the council of backing certain candidates because their signs were near the monuments or on city property. Russell says the ordinance will also require the signs to be taken down after the election. He says some political signs still remain after last year's election.
