Fort Madison Industry Expands

Fort Madison, IA – One Southeast Iowa industry says a recent expansion has led to a safer and more efficient facility. Bagcraft Papercon nearly doubled the size of its Fort Madison facility with a recent 50,000 square foot expansion. Vice President, Mark Wilcox, says the added space allows production and storage to now take place in separate, adjoining facilities. He says the plant became more congested as the company grew, so the expansion will help safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. Wilcox says 92 employees work at the Fort Madison plant, which produces light-weight sandwich wrappers for many fast food restaurants. Along with the $1,500,000 expansion, another $2,000,000 worth of equipment was added.
