Keokuk, IA – Nearly a dozen projects could be in line for some funding through the Southeast Iowa Regional Economic & Port Authority. The authority is finalizing the details on its $80,000 state grant and is trying to secure another $50,000 from the federal government. Chairman Lowell Junkins says the initial response from the applying organizations has been excellent. Proposals are still being accepted and will be reviewed in May. The Keokuk and Fort Madison Economic Development Corporations are seeking money for strategic plans. Montrose, Donnellson, the Keokuk Airport, the Lower Mississippi River Valley Wine Trail, and the Southeastern Iowa Port Terminal are also looking for funding.

Additional Information
* Montrose would use its funding to work on a master plan for the Great River Road.
* Donnellson would develop a business plan and marketing study for a visitors center/certified kitchen/ coop grocery .
* The Southeastern Iowa Port Terminal would work with Keokuk Properties on an engineering and design study for the construction of a riverfront sea wall.
