Search To Begin Soon In Lee County

Keokuk, IA – The Lee County Economic Development Group has yet to establish a timeline for finding a new economic development director. Lowell Junkins first announced, in 2005, that he would step down at the end of 2006. He later extended that deadline by 6 months to continue working on several projects. LCEDG's Board Chairman, Mike Holtkamp, says a national search will soon begin. He says the Board of Directors can now focus on the hiring process with the stability of a future funding agreement in place. Holtkamp says setting a timelin could restrict the hiring process when it comes to finding candidates. He says several resumes have already been turned in, but they have yet to be reviewed.
