Keokuk, IA – Thousands of gallons of biodiesel fuel are now flowing out of a relatively-new production plant in Southeast Iowa. Tri-City Energy announced its plans to build a 5,000,000-gallon a year facility, in downtown Keokuk, roughly 15 months ago. Construction got underway last summer. Spokesperson Al Moander says the company has now reached the manufacturing and shipping stage, with more than 80,000 gallons being sold in the last 2 weeks. He says getting to this stage was delayed because of the time required to reach testing and quality standards. Moander says consumers will be able to find Tri-City Energy's biodiesel fuel additive at local retailers in the very near future.
