Galesburg, IL – A Workforce Investment Board job training program will include public sector jobs this summer. Director Blanche Shoup says the program has been offering mainly classroom training to eligible high school students. Topics include interviewing and how to adapt to a job situation. Blanche says funding has been expanded this summer to allow students to be placed in public sector jobs. She says the program will run from mid-June through July. The number of students will depend on federal funding, which has not yet been determined. The training will be available in a nine-county western illinois area. Shoup says high school guidance counselors will help select eligible students.
