Macomb, IL – While the leak has been repaired at Macomb's Glenwood Pool, an alderman believes the pool does not have much life left in it. The second ward's Ken Zahnle says it appears less and less likely that Glenwood is salvageable. The city, park district, and a citizens committee have spent a considerable amount of time reviewing all pool options. Zahnle says the citizens committee has drafted an aggressive schedule for the next several months to develop a solution. He believes that solution will be something a little more major than minor. The pool is owned by the city and operated by the park district. Laverdiere Construction and Benton & Associates recently found and fixed the leak at no cost to either of the local governments.
