Bushnell Reaches Police Pact

Bushnell, IL – Bushnell aldermen have approved a new two-year contract with the city's full-time police. Mayor Steve Russell says the pact gives officers a 35-cents-per-hour pay raise. It also establishes a 10-hour work day for the officers. However, Russell says the city will monitor the scheduling and how well the longer shift works out. He says if the new scheduling becomes too expensive for the city, the agreement does allow going back to eight-hour work days. The contract does not apply to the sergeant, chief or part-time patrol officers.
