Carthage, IL – The Illini West school district is near to completing an agreement to use the Carthage High School building. Superintendent Harold Ford says the Carthage Community Unit District and his board have a working document with few additional details to be finalized. With three temporary classrooms to be added, the building will serve high school students from the LaHarpe and Carthage elementary districts. Ford says the board is close to an agreement with Carthage aldermen on the city's new TIF district. Ford says the pact will give part of the city's tax increment to the school district. He says the exact percentage is still being worked out.
