Macomb, IL – The ancient world has been portrayed in numerous films and TV shows. But how accurate are those portrayals? A presentation in Macomb will examine that issue. The speaker will be Dr. Lee Brice of WIU's History Department. He will use film and television clips to highlight some examples. His presentation "Ancient History and Film: Cinematic Window on the Modern World" will begin at 7:30pm Tuesday in the Macomb City Hall Community Room. The event is being sponsored by Friends of the Macomb Public Library. It's free and open to the public. Brice talked to News Director Rich Egger about the topics and explains what films have gotten it right and which ones have missed the mark.
