Macomb, IL – A writer known for stirring things up did just that during an appearance at Western Illinois University on Monday night.
Dinesh D'Souza said liberals are to blame for the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 because they failed to react to attacks on America during the 1990s.
D'Souza also blamed the Carter administration for failing to help support the Shah of Iran. D'Souza said Carter's policies ended up giving a country (Iran) to radical Muslims.
D'Souza's visit kicked off the new Global Perspectives Series sponsored by WIU's Center for International Studies. Interim Director Murali Venugopalan said it's important to bring in speakers from all points of view.
