Carthage, IL – Carthage aldermen have approved their first development project in the town's new TIF district. Mayor Jim Nightingale says the development will be 20 units for a Supported Living Facility. He says it is being built in connection with the hospital and the Hancock County Nursing Home. The $3.5 million project could be completed during 2008. He says over the 23-year life of the TIF district, the development could contribute more than $600,000 in TIF increment money the city could use for streets and water and sewer lines.
