Hamilton, IL – Hamilton's new school board president says one of his goals is to further explore the idea of school reorganization.
Doug Summers says he would like to see the talks between Hamilton, Warsaw, and Nauvoo-Colusa reach a point where the issue goes before the voters. At time, Summers has been the only member of the Hamilton School Board to attend multi-district meetings.
Summers was elected to the board in 2001. He replaces Rusty Dowdell, who chose not to seek another term as president, but will remain on the board.

Meanwhile, Hamilton will soon have a vacancy in its administrative team.
Superintendent James Jackson says Jr. & Sr. High Principal Dan Oakley has accepted the post of Superintendent of the Avon School District, effective July 1.
President Doug Summers says Oakley provided a verbal resignation at the recent board meeting and will provide a written notice after a contract is in place.
Jackson says applications and job descriptions for the post are being put together.
