Hamilton, IL – Hamilton's high school football field needs some work before future games can be played on it.
The school district found out, last fall, that the field is not in compliance with state standards because a pole and some bleachers are too close to the field.
Superintendent James Jackson says a recent meeting shows him that residents want to fix the field at the reasonable cost, which will likely mean shifting it to the west. He says reorganization talks with Warsaw and Nauvoo-Colusa, though, must also be considered.
After the meeting, business-owners Kirk & Debbie Neally volunteered to lead the way on the project, which could also impact several baseball diamonds.
