Keokuk, IA – Over the span of two days in March of 1862, Brigadier General Samuel Curtis, a former mayor of Keokuk, led the Union army to victory at the Battle of Pea Ridge in Northwest Arkansas.
That personal connection, and the work of a group of history fans, led to the first reenactment of that battle in Keokuk 20 years ago.
The latest installment brought together those who helped bring the Battle of Pea Ridge to Keokuk and those getting involved for the first time.

*During Saturday's battle, it was announced that there will be a 21st Battle of Pea Ridge.
*Cars were parked five to six blocks away, in all directions, from the borders of Rand Park.
