Lewistown, IL – This half-hour documentary earned First Place in the Best Series or Documentary category of the Illinois Associated Press Broadcasters Association Contest. News Director Rich Egger profiled the musicians who performed at the first Hickory Ridge Roots Music Festival at Dickson Mounds Museum near Lewistown. Those performers were Robin & Linda Williams and Their Fine Group, the Don Stierberg Trio, Bill Robinson and Friends, Bucky Halker, The Dorians, and Chris Vallillo. The documentary includes perfomances, plus the artists talk about their music, their influences, and what the phrase "roots music" means to them.
