Kahoka, MO – A Northeast Missouri courthouse has been deisgnated as one of the state's most endangered historic properties.
The Missouri Alliance for Historic Preservation's 2007 list includes homes, public buildings, bridges, and courthouses.
Committee Chairman, Dr. Cole Woodcox, says the ten sites are considered endangered because of potential development, political decisions, or a lack of regular maintenance.
He says Clark County's courthouse is specifically mentioned because it's an example of a property that has not been maintained due to a lack of funding.
The Sheriff's Office in Ralls County is also on the list.
Woodcoz says the goals of the list are to inform the public about how to rehab properties, to expand preservation efforts, and to raise interest in saving the properties on the actual list.
