Bowling Event Brings In $44,000.

Keokuk, IA – The 10th annual Bowl For Kids Sake in Keokuk brought in more than $44,000.

All of the money will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Great River Area.

Executive Director Cynthia Bergman says 69 teams took part in the two-day event.

This year's goal was $50,000.

Bergman believes the numbers were down because of other events going on over the weekend, including several high school graduations.

She says Bowl for Kid's Sake provides the funding for many of Big Brothers Big Sisters' programs.
br>Bergman says the organization wants to add a school-based program in Hamilton and Fort Madison.

She says mentors are still needed throughout the region.
