Bushnell, IL 61455 – The Bushnell city council has condemned a downtown building at the request of Carl Sandburg College.
Mayor Steve Russell says condemning the property will make it easier for the college to demolish it.
He says the building adjoing the CSC Extension Center was formerly a shoe store and a chiropractic office.
Larry Byrne, Business Manager for CSC, says the property could be used as a green space if funding can be found for the planting.
It would also be a place for expansion of the extension center should that become necessary.
The college will seek bids for the demolition.
