Macomb, IL – The Western Illinois Museum once again enjoyed sweet success with an annual fundraising event.
Around 200 people attended the museum's fourth annual Ice Cream Tasting Festival. The two-hour event started slowly but soon people started pouring in to sample the flavors.
Museum Board of Directors Chairman Lowell Lueck says the money raised will help pay for operating expenses. It will also help pay down the debt on the museum building at Washington and LaFayette in Macomb.
The festival is the museum's biggest fundraiser of the year. Lueck says the museum is hoping for some matching money from Wal-Mart.

*The festival was held across the street from the museum at The Old Dairy. People could try around one dozen flavors not usually available at the business.
*The current display at the museum is "Music, Music, Music." It's a tie-in to this year's Heritage Days theme of "Music & Memories." The exhibit will remain on display through the end of July.
