Fort Madison, IA – The Lee County Board of Supervisors, and the general public, will soon get a look at renovation plans for the county's jail.
The special meeting on June 12th will provide the full board its first opportunity to review the project.
Steve Hansen with Midwest Construction Consultants says the report will include architectural designs, a needs analysis, cost estimates, and a power point presentation on the jail.
Hansen says it will be up to the supervisors to determine how to proceed after the presentation is made.
They must decide whether to move forward with the project. If they do, how to pay for it and when a public vote will be held.
Hansen says this plan will be forwarded to the state's jail inspector to show that Lee County is working to replace three run-down housing trailers.
