Rushville, IL – Rushville's new mayor plans to hold some of the city council meetings away from city hall.
Scott Thompson says going to different locations will give aldermen the chance for a first-hand look at topics under discussion.
For example, he says one of the July meetings will be scheduleld for Scripps Park, where the cottages are being renovated.
Another meeting will be scheduled for the Street Shed when aldermen will be discussing the need for new equipment.
Thompson says aldermen have been good at visiting their wards to determine needs.
However, he says this will give everyone a chance to see things they might not normally run across.
The council usually meets twice a month at the City Hall.
