Keokuk Addresses Declining Graduation Rates

Keokuk, IA – Keokuk plans to form a task force to deal with declining graduation rates.

The district's 2005-2006 graduation rate of 68.7% was the worst in the state of Iowa.

High School Principal, Dave Keane, says that while the 12% drop from the previous year is a problem, a bigger issue is the steady 5-year decline in the graduation rate.

A recent 2 1/2 hour town hall meeting was held to gather input and suggestions from the public.

The district was also looking for volunteers for the graduation rate task force.
