Affordable Housing Still Needed in Tri State Region

Canton, MO – The need is still there for affordable workforce housing throughout the Tri-State Region.

Carla Potts says too often, employees cannot live in the communities they work in because of the cost of housing.

Potts is the deputy director for housing development for the Northeast Community Action Corporation in Northeast Missouri.

She says efforts are underway to add more affordable housing throughout the Tri State Region through both new construction and home rehabilitation.

Potts says new developments in Northeast Missouri, specifically Palmyra and Moberly, show how private dollars and public funding are enhancing the housing market.

She spoke during the fourth Tri-State Workforce Housing Summit in Canton Missouri.

* She says dozens of new homeowners have been helped since the last summit.
