Hamilton, IL – Volunteers hope to finish up the dirt work on the high school football field in Hamilton within the next week or so.
The field is being shifted to the south and west so it will meet state standards.
Debbie Neally says more than 3,000 cubic feet of dirt was brought in last weekend to fill in and level out the ground where the field will sit.
She says work will continue this weekend.
Neally hopes the field will be seeded next weekend, at the latest.
She says fundraising efforts are moving right along.
They are at about 60% of their goal of $10,000.
Neally says that if enough money is brought in, some fencing could be replaced and a couple of new stadium lights could be added.
Additional Information
* Neally says the proceeds from a dunk tank during Hamilton Homecoming Days will go toward the field renovations.
* She says donations can also be made to the Cardinal Foundation.
