WIU Has Tentative Pact with UPI

Macomb, IL – Western Illinois University has a tentative bargaining agreement with the University Professionals of Illinois.

UPI chapter president Karen Harris says the four-year agreement provides for a 3.5 percent salary increase in each of the four years.

She says no other details are being released until the agreement is ratified by the bargaining unit's members.

Harris did say the nine months of talks covered a wide variety of bargaining issues.

She says no date has been scheduled for a ratification election. However, one will be scheduled before the September Board of Trustees meeting.

The agreement covers 650 staff members including tenure-track faculty, non-tenure-track faculty and academic support professionals.

If approved by UPI members and the the trustees at their September meeting, it would be retroactive to July 1.
