Senior Housing Back on Track

Carthage, IL – Attorneys have resolved another delay in a senior housing project for Carthge.

Mayor James Nightingale says they had to re-do the legal description of the property near city hall where the complex will be built.

He says the city is reserving a road that runs across the property, and the description had to include that.

Nightingale says now that the corrections have been submitted to HUD, he expects a ground-breaking ceremony within 30 days.

He says the complex was delayed earlier when bids came in higher than expected. The specifications were altered and the project was re-bid.

The single-story, ten-unit complex will be for seniors who do not need assisted living services.
