Bushnell, IL – Bushnell municipal utility crews are gearing up to handle the expansion of a project that's just begun construction.
Mayor Steve Russell says the Petersen Health Care project has expanded plans for the apartment building to forty units instead of thirty.
In addition, he says the city recently found that the building will have electric heat. This means city crews will have to increase the size of the feed lines the city has extended to the site in the northeast part of town.
The municipal utility provides electrical power to the city's residents. It buys the power at wholesale rates, but must maintain the distribution grid.
In addition, Russell says the firm had originally planned to build two duplex homes on the site for those who wanted semi-independent living.
However, he says one of the two planned units has already been sold. He says this means the firm might build more duplex homes. He says the firm planned its buildings so that it would have room to expand if the demand proved strong.
