Rushville, IL – The Federal Aviation Administration wants two trees removed near Rushville's Schuy Rush Airport.
Mayor Scott Thompson says the issue is made more complex because the trees are on private property.
On its airport listings, the FAA cautions pilots about a 47-foot tree about 500 feet from the end of the runway. One other tree was mentioned to the city in a letter from the FAA.
Schuy Rush Municipal Airport has a 3,500 foot east-west landing strip.
Thompson says aldermen will have to negotiate with property owners to get the trees removed.
