Port Authority Awards Grants

Montrose, IA – The Southeast Iowa Regional Economic And Port Authority is giving out more grant money to help fund local economic development efforts.

This time around, roughly $17,000 was awarded to groups including KEDC, FMEDC, the Southeastern Iowa Port Terminal, and the Lower Mississippi River Valley Wine Trail.

The authority gave out more than $12,000 several months ago.

Chairman Lowell Junkins says a balance had to be struck between projects that need the money to move forward and those that will move ahead whether the funding is there or not.
