Keokuk, IA – Keokuk could be the home of a new ethanol-production plant.
Rural Development Associates, LLC is considering a site next to Roquette America's existing corn wet-milling operation.
President Ron Saak says his Grundy Center, Iowa-based company has developed ethanol plants in Iowa and Minnesota.
He told the city council, during last night's workshop, that Keokuk offers some unique opportunities for RDA.
Saak says further evaluation must take place, though he says early projections show Keokuk could sustain a 50-million gallon/year facility.
If the site is chosen, he says construction could get underway this spring.
