Donnellson, IA – The Central Lee School District is now tobacco-free.
The district's new policy, which took effect last month, prohibits all tobacco products anywhere on the Central Lee campus.
That includes the parking lot, school buildings, and sports facilities.
Superintendent John Henriksen says the district wants to set a good example for students.
The district's previous ban pertained only to smoking.
Henriksen says a recent survey shows both students and faculty at Central Lee support the change.
The Keokuk and Fort Madison School Districts already have tobacco-free campuses.
