Rushville, IL – An Ad Hoc Housing Committee in Rushville will finish its first questionnaire next week.
Chairwoman June Conner says the group is charged with discovering what are the housing issues in town, and then making recommendations to the city council on how to solve them.
She says the first step will be finding out how community members view the housing issue.
Next week's meeting will finalize the questions to be asked, and consider how the surveys will be distributed.
Later, she says the committee might send out targeted surveys to sub-groups, such as the elderly or non-English speakers.
Conner believes the targeted surveys will help her group determine what the community's housing market lacks, and focus on possible solutions.
The committee will report back to the city council periodically.
