Macomb, IL – A new art exhibit in Macomb celebrates the environment. It can be seen at Sullivan Taylor Coffeehouse through the end of August.
The photographs were taken by Dr David Soule. The retired WIU physics professor calls himself the original tree hugger. For many years, he taught a class on energy and the environment.
Soule's color photos were taken across the country over the years. He enjoys images that contain contrasts and juxtapositions.
More than 40 photos can be seen. Soule says another 20 had to be removed from the exhibit because of a lack of space.

*Soule started taking photographs 20 or 30 years ago. Many of the images in the exhibit were taken with a film camera. He started using digital cameras within the last five years.
