Keokuk, IA – One of the Presidential hopefuls says the federal government should make it easier for drivers to find environmental-friendly fuels.
Democrat John Edwards says the federal government should require that 25% of the locations that sell fuel in the U-S have pumps for E85, which is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline.
The former North Carolina Senator says that all new cars should also be flex-fuel, which run on either gasoline or bio-fuel.
Edwards says the government must also cap carbon emissions and force polluters to pay large fines that would be used to fund solar, wind, and biofuel research.
Edwards made his comments during a stop in Keokuk.
He is traveling Iowa on a large charter bus, which one of his staffers says runs on a blend of 80% petroleum/20% bio-diesel.
