Burlington, IA – Commercial air service is returning to one Southeast Iowa airport.
Wyoming-based Great Lakes Airlines will resume service at Southeast Iowa Regional Airport in early October.
Airport Manager Sharon Leeper says there will be three commercial flights out of Burlington daily: 2 to Saint Louis and 1 to Kansas City.
She says Southeast Iowa Regional Airport found out about the flights over the weekend.
Leeper says Great Lakes will have to send staff and equipment to Burlington to prepare for the resumed flights.
It has been more than 5 months since Burlington had commercial air service.
Great Lakes has not announced when it will again provide commercial flights out of Quincy, Illinois.
