Keokuk, IA – Applications are already coming in as Keokuk searches for a city administrator.
The city council created the post just a few weeks ago.
Mayor Dave Gudgel says more than 15 applications have already been received.
He says the city has been advertising throughout the Midwest and on the internet.
Another wave of postings will be going out soon.
Gudgel says interviews could get underway in roughly three weeks and run through mid-October with an administrator in place by late October.
The exact job description for the city administrator has not been released.
Some of the duties are expected to include applying for grants, crafting budgets, and supervising departments.
