Hamilton, IL – The Hamilton School District's roughly $5,000,000 spending plan for the current school year appears to be in the black.
Superintendent James Jackson says the projected surplus of $40,000 could grow by the end of the year because the budget contains some wiggle room.
He says the budget is based on revenue estimates because the state has not released the final totals for state aid and hold harmless payments for Hamilton.
Jackson says early indications are that the district will receive more money than anticipated.
He says the spending plan includes a pay increase for teachers, funding for some new associate teachers, and money to replace science labs.
