Keokuk, IA – The number of organizations benefiting from grants through the Keokuk Area Community Foundation continues to rise.
In 2005 (the foundation's first year), 12 agencies shared roughly $33,000.
The numbers jumped to 16 agencies receiving more than $45,000 in 2006.
This year, 19 agencies will share just under $50,000.
Executive Director Tammi Kircher says not-for-profit organizations from across the region can apply.
This year's recipients include Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Great River Area, Community Action of Southeast Iowa, Hancock County Habitat for Humanity, Montrose Riverfront Inc., the Keokuk Art Center and the Keokuk Public Library.
